Top 3 Nicolas Cage movies
This John Woo classic features both Nicolas Cage and John Travolta as arch enemies, the twist being they switch faces in an undercover operation that goes wrong. It's a rollercoaster ride from start to finish and is definitely the most original film out of the three. Iconic action, memorable one liners and of course plenty of doves. A rare instance in a film where the Protagonist is the Antagonist and vice versa, and both are played brilliantly by Cage and Travolta.
John Turtletaub directs this sequel to the 2004 film National Treasure, and follows Ben Gates on another treasure seeking adventure. This time he must clear his ancestors name by proving a lost city of gold exists. The story is rather farfetched but it manages to emulate what was so great about the first film . In Book of Secrets we see different locations such as Paris and London, whereas in the first film it's just based in the USA.
Ed Harris stars as Antagonist Mitch Wilkinson who is also after the treasure (there's always someone else). National Treasure always manages to capture the essence of American history in a great light and mixes it with plenty of action. I actually rate both National Treasure films equally as they are both great, however the involvement of Presidents led me to go with the sequel, but definitely check both out.
Honestly, is there a better all round action movie than Micheal Bay's The Rock. Easily Bay's best film and it remains a classic over 25 years later. From the great cast, tense action, explosive story and thumping soundtrack, The Rock is quite possibly the greatest movie of all time. The style of the movie alone is something you don't see anymore and is reminiscent of classic action movies of yesteryear, and when you combine two of the greats in Cage and Connery, what can go wrong?
