The Rock Reboot

Please no...

If trends in Hollywood are to be followed, then surely it can't be long until we see more and more films getting rebooted, and there's every chance a classic such as The Rock will also get the modern treatment.
The problem is no matter how good these newer versions have the capability to be, they all suffer from the same problem, they fail to catch the magic of the original. Some stones are best left unturned.
So a reboot of Micheal Bay's 1996 action thriller The Rock is a good example of classics left alone.

Disney Plus is releasing a Home Alone reboot in November, and Todd Phillip's The Hangover (2009) is also rumoured to be brought back. I've never understood why films get rebooted that are less than 15 years old, it just seems like not enough time has passed. The Hangover Part III only came out in 2013!
There are differences however in how reboots come about. Some are excusable and are welcomed by fans. When Zack Snyder released his take on Justice League we were excited to see how the film would turn out under his direction. It isn't as much a reboot as a re-release how it should have been.
